Kanyakumari
Kanyakumari, also known as Cape Comorin, is a coastal town at the southernmost tip of mainland India in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is a major tourist destination due to its geographical location where the Arabian Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal meet.
Kanyakumari is known for its breathtaking natural beauty and stunning sunrises and sunsets. The town is famous for its unique phenomenon, “Sunset Point”, where visitors can watch the sunset over the sea in a spectacular display of colors. Likewise, “Sunrise Point” offers a fascinating view of the sunrise on the horizon.
One of the landmarks of Kanyakumari is the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, located on a rocky island off the coast. This memorial is dedicated to Swami Vivekananda, a renowned spiritual leader, and provides a peaceful retreat for meditation and reflection. Nearby is also a statue of the Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar, which stands 133 feet tall, making it one of the tallest statues in India.
Kanyakumari is also home to the Kumari Amman Temple, dedicated to the goddess Devi Kanya Kumari, after whom the city is named. The temple attracts devotees from near and far, and its unique architectural style and religious significance make it a popular pilgrimage site.
Sightseeing
We think of the mountainous region of HIMACHAL PRADESH, of RAJASTHAN with its long MOGHUL history, we think of the cities along the GANG with their ceremonies and also GOA, which have so much more to offer than just the numerous beaches. KERALA, TAMIL NADU and many more are waiting to be discovered by you.
